With several new features such as “Edge Rank”, “Story Bumping” and “Last Actor”, Facebook once again launched a new feature that allows user to embed Facebook posts directly into their personal websites. Embedded Posts is a social plugin that lets you add public posts from Facebook to your blog or website.
Embedded Posts are like Facebook post, with the ability to show pictures, videos, hashtags, and other contents. The embedded post will show any media attached to it, as well as the number of likes, shares, and comments that the post has. Embedding posts will let people who use your website see the same rich information that is shown on Facebook.com, and it will enable people to follow or like content authors or Pages directly from the embed.
The embedding process is very simple with one line of code. To embed a post, first of all, check if the post is public because only public posts can be embedded.
If the post is public, click on the “Embed Post” option in the drop down as shown in given picture:
After clicking on “Embed Post”, there comes a pop-up dialogue box with few lines of codes. Simply copy and paste the code provided on your web page or blog.
You can then like and share the embedded post directly from your web page or blog.
It would be interesting to see Embedded Posts become integrated with Facebook’s mobile apps. Imagine being able to tap on a public post and select “embed” and push it to Tumblr or WordPress via your own mobile.
