On October, it will roll out to the existing machines along with new devices. During the gap, the developers are making test to drivers and fixing the bugs.
Windows 8.1 is a completely new and much improved version. It includes various new features as well as refinements of the user interface. Some of the superb features are:
• There are two new sizes of live tile in Windows 8.1: tiny and extra-large.
• Another very interesting feature is the search feature which is enhanced to a global search that will create a “search hero” results page full of organized information from both the web and your local machine.
• Deeper SkyDrive integration is another interesting feature where you can easily pick which files from SkyDrive get mirrored to your PC. Also, it’s also the default place to save documents.
• Snap — where you have two different-size windows on the screen — gets a big upgrade in Windows 8.1. You can split the screen however you want now, and even use Snap with multiple apps at the same time.
You can check the following video for more detail.
With various designs and utility improvements, including support for smaller-screen devices, windows 8.1 will be on your way in October.
